The Proposal

Thursday night I proposed to Lauren and she said yes. We’re engaged! Today we went to go start our registry for our wedding and damn is there some cool stuff out there. Of course, there’s no guarantee we’ll get all of it, but it’s fun anyway :P

Anyone have any tips on stuff we should register for?

Life Marches On

One month, no, three weeks, and I’m done with college. I will finally, finally not have to deal with my ridiculous school anymore!

In lighter news, I recently purchased a print of my piece “Out There,” and I must say it looks beautiful in 20×30 inches matte finish.
Mah Printz
That makes two space images that will one day grace the halls (or rooms, or wherever Lauren lets me put them) of my house.

Now all that remains is to get the show that is my life on the road! I’ll hopefully be having more time to pursue bread baking; my friend bought me The Bread Bible:
Bread Bible
The book is truly amazing and gives me a lot of insight into the science and the process of making bread and even some of the history of it. I plan to chew my way through the whole thing, one recipe at a time, maybe starting with a simple baguette (I love those things).

Aaanyway, I’d better be getting some sleep, so gnight!

Tasty Kitchen

Ree Drummond, known to many as The Pioneer Woman, has launched a new website called the Tasty Kitchen, a social network for people who love to cook and share recipes. The site design is excellent, as is the community, and in just over a day the site already has thousands of members. Go check it out!

This is an image I’ve been working on for a while now. It originally started as a weird sketch, but after I inverted the colors I thought, hey, this could be a cool nebula!
So I started painting a nebula, but then it somehow became a cave. So again, I thought, hey, lets make it a caveula! So I did. Then I decided to give it a story and enter it into a couple of contests that are going on on deviantArt. Basically whats going on here is the the two characters in the mid-ground are sailing off to some paradise on their flying raft, escaping from the grasp of the evil, horned silhouette in the foreground (in the red part, his arms are folded).
Maybe one day I’ll do a sequel…

In other news, I’m probably going on a picnic with my girlfriend on Thursday, so food is coming soon!

A Plate. And a Cup

See, this is what I’m talking about. Right here I’ve got graphics (in this case, a Photoshop painting) and the kitchen, at the same time.

Kitchen art?

Kitchen art?

Now, I’m not saying that all of the digital art here will be of this nature. I happen to be way into space art, and scifi in general. But if you’re into this kind of thing, it’ll be around.

Incidentally, if you click on that you can download the full resolution wallpaper, if you’re interested.
More to come!

First Real Post

All right, so I know no one is reading this, but might as well start now, right?

Hi everyone, my name is Bryan (though elsewhere on teh interwebs I may be known as bloknayrb, hence the title of this blog). I’m currently (but hopefully not for much longer) a college student in New York studying psychology, and I plan on going to law school after I graduate. This blog is kind of going to be a mix between photography, cooking, digital art, and random anecdotes about the ridiculous things that happen in my school.

I’ve found that a few things will always hold true: people will always love food, photos are pretty, digital painters will always use the internet, and my school is seriously messed up, so this blog should have at least some relevance for at least a few people.

Anyway, that’s all for now, but my next post should be a bit more interesting.

Bye ;)
